Faber E-Tec GmbH
With roots dating back to 1995, we at Faber E-Tec develop and manufacture Transformer- and Compact stations, solar park stations for Photovoltaics, compact substation for E-mobility and Battery storage and safely connect it to the grid – made in Germany, from our own production facility in Bünde.
family-owned business Roots since 1995 Two locations Bünde & Dresden ISO 9001 & ISO 45001 Manufacturing in Germany
Our story begins in 1995, when Emil Faber (Faber Senior) founded Elektro Faber – the roots of our family business in traditional electrical installation. His son Waldemar Faber continued this path: in 2017, he spun off the PV business branch into the Faber Solar Technology GmbH out, followed in 2020 by the Faber E-Tec GmbH is an independent company for the production of compact transformer substations. Today, we are a specialised manufacturer for industry, solar parks, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and e-mobility – with the commitment to reliably connect power generators and consumers to the grid.

From the factory to the grid connection
There are over 800 distribution network operators in Germany – each with its own requirements for grid connection. Because we manufacture our substations entirely ourselves in Bünde, we retain control over the entire supply chain and remain independent of the long delivery times currently slowing down the market. From the factory in Bünde to the sales location in Dresden, we accompany your project personally – from planning to grid connection.
Our history
In 1995, Emil Faber (Faber Senior) founded Elektro Faber – our roots lie in traditional electrical installation. From 2008, his son Waldemar Faber increasingly geared the company towards photovoltaics. In 2017, we spun off this business division into the independent Faber Solartechnik GmbH with a focus on industrial properties; in 2019, an in-house utility-scale project development division was added.
In 2020, the foundation of Faber E-Tec GmbH followed as an independent company for the production of compact transformer substations – including certification of our own concrete enclosure and the establishment of our plant in Bünde. In 2021, we assembled our first proprietary ground-mounted photovoltaic projects. Today, this enables us not only to connect power generators and consumers – we connect them to one of modern history's greatest achievements: the power grid.
In 2022, the group of companies grew to over 130 employees across 3 locations. In 2024, we presented internally proven products to a broader audience for the first time – at Intersolar.
In 2025, the Faber Energy Group employed around 190 members of staff.
Bünde and Dresden
Our plant as well as our headquarters with administration are located in Bünde. At the Dresden site, we focus on sales and project planning. This clear division of tasks enables us to coordinate your projects efficiently, plan them expertly and implement them reliably. At the same time, both locations enable us to provide personal and needs-based support for our customers.
Our top experts
With over 25 years of experience in electrical engineering and over 15 years of experience in the Solar sector as top experts, we offer comprehensive expertise in planning, procurement and construction (All-In-One – EPC) of solar parks. Our NSHV switching systems, NA protection solutions and Container transformer stations are specially developed for the solar market and fulfil the highest standards of efficiency and safety. Our team of experts works closely with you to develop customised solutions that are precisely tailored to your needs.
Our services
From manufacturing to maintenance, we accompany your compact substations through all essential project phases.
1. construction
We cast the concrete body in our own production facility. We then equip each compact substation to suit the grid area and field of application. Each station is a one-off and weighs over 17 tonnes.
2. planning
On request, we can take over the planning of your compact transformer substation as well as complete low- or medium-voltage concepts. Our experts will take your requirements and the local conditions into account.
3. logistics
A fully equipped compact transformer substation weighs over 17 tonnes and is transported as a heavy load. Our logistics department organises safe delivery to your site.
4. Installation
The compact transformer substation is installed about a metre deep into the ground. We carry out the necessary excavation work and connect your system to the substation.
5. Netzanschluss
In Germany, there are over 800 distribution network operators. Our custom compact substations are technically tailored to the specifications of the respective operator.
6. Wartung
We carry out protective measurements on a regular basis. This ensures the reliable and long-term use of your compact transformer substation without any outages or faults.
